Blogging Panel Discussion at NEDMA
I mentioned I'll be meeting and maybe even arguing with some of the leading New England area blogging experts at the New England Direct Marketing Association Dinner on Jan 19th in Waltham Mass (everyone is invited).
Bob Cargill has let me know some of the questions he may be asking me, so here are some with very brief answers - more detailed answers on Thursday night!
Why do you blog?
Results! Concrete business results. I’ve sold consulting, keynotes, and training to both existing and new customers due to my blogging.
Blogging has also greatly increased my writing skills, and writing is a critical business skill.
What are the steps an organization needs to take if it wants to be blogging as soon as possible?
Dive in feet first. The worst type of blog any organization can start is the “let’s start a blog blog.” A blog should be part of a company’s strategy.
Before even considering starting a blog, an organization needs to get their “feet wet.” Read a few blogs. Learn to use the blog search engines and explore the blogosphere.
Only after an organization has a plan and a familiarity with blogs should they consider starting one.
Effective Internet Presence: Now required for success in business and life

I was at the NEDMA event last night. Great insight. I enjoyed your comments.
