It's the conversation, NOT the blog
About ten years ago I was staying in a small hotel in the old city of Jerusalem for a few weeks.
Everyday I'd wake up hungry and there would be a group of nearby street vendors -- I always bought breakfast from the same guy.
He didn't have the best food, or the cheapest, or the biggest portions, BUT, we'd have a great conversation every day for at least 30 minutes. He knew little English, and I even less Arabic, but he'd make the effort and we'd have a wonderful time.
I'm a customer for life - should I ever find myself back in Jerusalem, no question I'll go find him again.
When you talk with people, they get to know you. They get to like you.
People like to do business with people they know. People like to do business with people they like. People like to help people they like.
Blogging is not important; it's the conversations blogging enables. It's the networking, the getting to know people and getting known, getting closer to customers, potential customers, partners, etc.
