Blogging for Business blog Goals
From the Problogger blogging goals group writing project
I firmly believe in succeeding by being a nice guy. The theory of kharma applied to business perhaps. Still, the goals are "me me me," but the how is "you you you."
Goals for the Blogging for Business Blog (it's me me me):
1) Promote my Blogging for Business book and What No One Ever Tells You About Blogging and Podcasting (Kaplan, November 2006).
2) Continue to generate consulting work and speaking gigs in new media.
3) Build readership for the blog and my BizBlog+ newsletter.
4) Develop information products and sell them from my blog. I've done it for clients and now I need to do it for myself.
5) Keep on learning on!
How (it's you you you):
In the words of Dave Taylor (whose words of wisdom will appear in my second book):
"Ask not what your market can bring to you, but what you can bring to your market."
1) Provide practical and great information.
2) Blog more consistently (once book #2 is done!).
3) Link to others with great info.
4) Have conversations – my readers know more than me.
5) Experiment – it's a new world.
6) Finally put on some more free teleseminars.
7) Know I'm not always right!
Oh, I forgot to mention have fun! I'm going to -- promise!
Effective Internet Presence: Now required for success in business and life

Ted, since one of your goals is to do more teleseminars, can I make a couple suggestions?
Building Blog Traffic
and
Choosing Blog Software
I know you cover these somewhat in the "Blogging for Business" book, but things change so fast an update and refresh would rock!

Fred,
A couple of great suggestions! I'll do it, it just might take a month or two.
The teleseminars will probably be free, with CDs available aferwards for a modest fee.
I'll announce them on the blog, but I need to finish writing "What No One Ever Tells You About Blogging and Podcasting" first - about 75% done

With goal setting I always find it helpful to quantify the goals, for example setting a goal of increasing my blog readership to 1,000 a day, rather than just saying "increase my readership".
Quantifying goals enables the unconscious to get to work and do its thing.
Wish you guys the best and have added your site to my bloglines.

Hi Lyndon,
Thanks for the comments, and congrats on your new blog. Success in reaching your goals!
I sometimes quantify goals as you suggest, and other times use them to simply "set a course" and keep on track.

There is constructive way to acheive those goals?
1) Collective Bargining
2) War
3) Normalization
4) Better Definition
5) Fight Club
6) Sports
7) Change of Environment
8) Other Activities
