Blogging is demanding
Blogging IS a lot of work. I couldn't imagine doing it if I didn't enjoy it despite the significant benefits, both business and other.
It's a demanding medium, especially if we need to re-learn or un-learn things, like writing formal corporate-speak or marketese.
Of course one can be a relaxed and laid back bloggers, but it still takes time!
Jane Genova has a great post, Gotta Make the Donuts - The Blogging Life on this topic.
Thanks to Ian Griffin for the heads up.
Effective Internet Presence: Now required for success in business and life

Thanks for the mention, Ted. It took me about 6 months to unlearn corporate-speak and market-push.
But the biggest and most brutal adjustment has been accepting the openness of this medium. There is no controlling it and that's probably why so many Bigfoot corporations still resist social media.
The constant feedback - because of the openness - has taught me more than any executive coach, MBA course or unhappy client. It's painful, sure. But because I have grown so much I am finally being taken seriously as a thinker and writer. Big payoff for some painful moments.
