The Future - it's got a long way to go - Michael Bailey

"In the midwest you say blog, and they hand you a tissue. It's got a long way to go."
-Michael Bailey, MobaTalk Comment System (review coming later)

I had the pleasure of a few beers with Michael at PodCamp last weekend. Hanging out with like minded people, it's easy to lose track that blogs & podcasts are still WAY OUT THERE. Most people have no clue and don't care what they are!

Michael and I agree though - a bright future, just a ways off.

It's true, it's a long way off from the mainstream, but the groundwork is there. As much as people may not know about podcasting, they sure do know about Apple's iPod - and that's the stealth vehicle in.

Thanks for coming to PodCamp!

It was great that Michael made it out to Boston for PodCamp. He clearly has some big ideas, and I can't wait to see them all implemented!

I think it's fantastic that we're here at this moment in time. We've witnessed the potential, recognized the path, and we're heading in the right direction.

As long as the entire community remains in orbit around the common goal, the future of on-demand media is looking good - in fact, I'd say it looks downright Infolicious :-)

There have been times in recent history where entire paradigm shifts have taken place. I think that we're witnessing the beginning stages of one right now.

I am looking forward to the days when I can turn on my TV, scroll a menu to a content channel, and watch uncensored video about any topic, just minutes after it has been made available.
