6 Tips for Improving Your Blog

Here are 6 tips that apply to many blogs.

In this case, I've been looking at Josiane Feigon's blog, Telesmart Communications blog. She'd like some advice!

1) Post more regularly
She has a few "holes" in her blogging frequency. I'd suggest at least one post a week, preferably several. Many people like a Mon/Wed/Fri posting schedule. You can write blog posts ahead of time when you'll be busy or otherwise unavailable.

2) Add lesser known but great blogs to your blog roll
Her blogroll lists well known and great blogs. There are lots of lesser know yet superb blogs she'd probably love (find them with Technorati). If she adds them to her blogroll they WILL notice and maybe link back.

3) Leave comments on other blogs, both well-known and not well known
Leave comments where you can add value on other blogs, including excellent lesser known and almost unknown blogs. They appreciate it and look at your blog too.

4) Link to other's blog posts more often
There are probably lots of posts that would add value to your readers that you can link to and then add your own thoughts.

5) Drop the word "blog"
Your clients and potential clients may or may not like the word blog. Your link from your Web page and email signature could say something like "Josiane's Thoughts and Advice on Life in the Telebusiness Trenches"

6) Don't worry too much about traffic.
Yes, lots of readers are great, but I bet all potential new clients checking out your Web site look at your blog.

There aren't many, perhaps any, blogs exactly in your niche, Telebusiness. That's good and bad. First is good since as the niche grows you're already established. First is bad as there are fewer similar blogs to interlink with.

And yes, I do consulting for small entreprenuers like you (and me), but this should give you some direction for starters. Actually, your content is a great start, and the blog looks great!
