8 Random Things about Me
Toby Bloomberg has tagged me in this recent game of blog tag, so here goes:
1) I'm pretty lazy, so I'll be recycling some of Toby's random things as appropriate! :)
2) I love learning about and drinking wine (stolen from Toby). Anything from finding a fantastic tasting $7 bottle that goes great with a tuna fish sandwich to drinking a great wine made when Teddy Roosevelt was president.
3. I love to travel (recycled from Toby). Kids are slowing me down somewhat now, but I'd often land in some random 3rd world country with a small carry on and no plans for a few weeks+ when I was younger, and will when I'm older too.
4) I occasionally shave my head and it freaks out my more conservative clients.
5) I love to flyfish, especially at night in the ocean.
6) I never planned on writing books on blogging or on blogging about blogging. Blogging just worked for me, and soon friends were asking for help and a literary agent appeared with a book contract.
7) I'd rather blog than work!
And I tag Florian (who's sitting in a class I'm teaching this weekend in DC), The Techvertising Kid (tm), Plastic Spork, Booklet Queen Paulette, Connie Reece (who has an easy MakeConnieLaugh) going on and anyone who leave a comment and wants a link (how's that for lazy!!!)
Effective Internet Presence: Now required for success in business and life

FYI, re: #2. In case you ever need to know what wine goes with chicken fried steak, I found out tonight via a Twitter message from a connoisseur of both: "preppydude: @conniereece.. I go with something a little hearty as to stand up to the deep fried decadence.. grenache/syrah blend or Tempranillo."
Just thought that little tidbit might come in handy next time you're in Texas. :-)

Hi Connie,
I had some great friend chicken yesterday in DC -- it was served to all the speakers at the conference I'm at. The tempranillo I understand, although I never would have guessed, and will need to try it. The grenache/syrah blend seems a bit far out, but I gotta try it too sometime!!!

Ted - thanks for playing along. It's fun to see what we have in common in addition to blogging. Next time you, Connie and I are in the same city at the same time .. wine tasting!
By the way .. a bald head is waaaaaay far down my list of things to do (smile).

Y'know, I've never asked myself the question:
"What type of wine should I serve with this tuna salad sandwich?"
I guess the presence of Miracle Whip vs. mayo could be a deciding factor in the final moments.

Actually Angie it would depend more on whether it's fresh or canned tuna, and what kind of wine you like :)

So when is your trip up to Toronto? I'm not too sure about that whole tuna sandwich, but we can definitely find you a $7 tasting bottle :) I think there are ever a few contributors to your book up here as well.
