Luis Suarez, ELSUA:
I would probably have named it in exactly the same way / fashion. Something personal, something that resonates with me and which I would want to make it my own personal brand. Wouldn't necessarily need to be descriptive of what it would be since that is part of the process of building your brand with quality blog posts and commenting on other people's blogs. So I suspect I would name it something along the lines of what I have been doing so far making it personal, relevant to my own brand and allowing people to build up an image of what the can expect.
Reg Adkins, Elemental Truths:
I have thought about that.If I were starting a blog today I would probably stick with elementaltruths. It is easy to type. You don't have to reach far off the home keys to type it.The name has the value of surface meaning and deeper meaning when you give it some thought.Plus, I think it's kind of catchy. That was kind of a long answer for a brief question.Maybe, you just wanted the short answer. So, "No". :)

Ted,
You make an excellent point in the January 06 article. If I had the expertise to add some key elements to my title that would tickle the search engines and yet leave my "brand" as is, I would definately do it. Perhaps I should invest in the WP for dummies book you highlighted.

Reg,
For the record, I love "Elemental Truths" -- great blog name, great branding. But as you mention, it has no key words in it: words of phrases about what you blog on and that people might search for via the search engines.
One thing you could do is change the "title tag" in the HTML. This is what shows up in the upper lefthand corner of the browser window. You could change it to "Elemental Truths: Dog Walking, Kitchen Utensils, Lamp Shades" -- or however you'd describe what you blog on :)
The Search Engines pay a lot of attention to the "title tag." It's at the top of the HTML for your blog.

One last question, I promise.
It is about "slugs".
If I enter the key words in the slugs will that have the same affect as the title technique?

Reg,
I must admit a Google was necessary to look up "Wordpress slugs."
No, I doesn't look like it.
But, if you go to edit your theme, the title tag is one of the first lines and had the format:
The Text You Can Change
Just change the "The Text You Can Change" to whatever you'd like.
(there are no spaces around the "" " and "/t" and the word "title" - but I had to input them in the comment so the tags wouldn't be interpreted as HTML and disappear)
