For example, TechCrunch's Michael Arrington thinks it is.

Actually obsessing over anything can be, although is not necessarily.

I'm a pretty intense guy, and yes, I periodically obsess over things. Usually this is a *good* thing, although admittedly not always.

I will admit, this 24 hour connectivity is probably a very bad thing. For example, Twitter on my cell phone -- NO WAY!
